Literature Text

Wolves

They are creatures of night
hair on rise, teeth clenched tight
they howl songs of bravery
growl pacts of loyalty
the young ones bite each other’s ears
but quiet down when an elder nears
They hunt in packs to take down prey
to survive, not for play
blood covers their snouts and paws
they abide by only nature’s laws
a dog might be a man’s best friend
but wolves will be wild till the end
Not quite sure if I really like this one, but figured I would post it anyway. Enjoy!

I like this one. It has a really really clear subject, but still is in a way solemn. Most poems that sound as mature as this one are very vague, but you took the easiness to understand from a children's poem and made it sound really grown up. Interesting.
